Educational visits to the wood are  available free of charge through the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.  a pre-visit by the teachers/ group leaders  is essential,

Visits are free but you will need to organise your own transport. We do have hard standing for parking and a picnic area 

What you can do on your visit
we begin with a welcome and an introduction to the woods with some background information   All activities must be pre-arranged   Younger students may prefer to follow the earth walk discovery trails whereas older students may carry out ecological studies of the area.  Adult groups can have a guided tour  whereas general interest groups such Cub Scout and Watch groups may prefer to come for an evening and follow the trails.
